Support Your Citi-Lab!
The Orlando Citi-Lab Center will function as a self-supporting research center and satellite of the University of Florida School of Architecture. It will be supported through a combination of grants, contracts and donations. Faculty and Graduate Research Assistants will staff the Center.
In the context of the increasingly privately funded and research driven public university, an effort such as Citi-Lab must be independently funded. We are on the verge of launching Citi-Lab and need your guidance and support. As members of Orlando 's design community, we ask that you work with us in raising funds for this important effort. In short – the Citi-Lab Center needs your help!
In order to move forward, we need to develop a start-up fund to assure the financial solvency of the center for the next two years and assist with the build-out and equipping of the center.
We most sincerely ask for your kind donation in one of two categories:
$5000.00 x 10 donations = $50,000.00
$2500.00 x 20 donations = $50,000.00
This initial fundraising goal of $100,000.00 will support the Citi-Lab Center for two or more years. Our generous storefront space in downtown Orlando will require approximately $2000.00 per month for rent, insurance and utilities. The cost of supporting a Graduate Research Assistant for one semester is approximately $4000.00 (tuition waiver, stipend + travel expenses).
Additional funds will support the following:
Technology / Library purchases for the Citi-Lab Resource Center
Citi-Lab Center studio / exhibit space build-out
Furniture and fixtures / Signage, advertising, publicity
Ongoing operating fund
Student scholarships and grants

We are committed to making Citi-Lab your community design and research center with a mission that includes serving the residents of metro Orlando through the disciplines of design and planning.
We ask that you consider supporting Citi-Lab Orlando at this critical moment. May we also suggest that, as members in the forefront of the building industry, you might further assist us by locating a partner to match your gift. Donors will be recognized as Citi-Lab Founding Donors. Your donation will be recognized as a founding gift and acknowledged in documents, exhibits, and publications as well as all outreach efforts such as the College Newsletter and magazine and the alumni magazine.
